Paper submission deadline EXTENDED to 13th June 2016

We invite you to submit research papers for consideration for presentation at the 2016 Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference (LAPC). A full list of paper topics is available in the call for papers.  All accepted papers will be presented as posters in dedicated sessions with no other parallel activity.  Each delegate is permitted to present a maximum of 2 posters.

LAPC 2016 will accept two types of papers.  The same paper submission deadline applies to both types of papers.

Type 1 - Authors submit a Full Paper (3 to 5 pages in length).  The paper is reviewed and if accepted, the authors are given the opportunity to make corrections and resubmit.  If the final paper is accepted and if presented at the conference by a registered delegate, it will be submitted for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

Type 2 - Authors submit a 2-page summary paper.  Summary papers should clearly indicate the novelty of the work and its relation to previous work.  Authors can identify future work but please be aware the reviewers will need to see sufficient results in the summary paper in order to warrant acceptance. Once reviewed and if accepted, the authors are given the opportunity to make corrections and resubmit.  The authors will not be permitted to increase the length of the paper to a full paper.  If the final summary paper is accepted and one of the authors registers for the conference, the summary paper will be included in the USB conference proceedings. Please note, summary papers will not be submitted for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

Both types of papers must follow the same formatting guidelines.  They must be A4 size, and be in 2 column format.  IEEE Xplore compliant templates, both MS Word and LaTeX, are given below.  All submitted papers must follow this IEEE template.  IEEE PDF eXpress is available for generating and compliance checking PDFs.  All PDFs must be submitted through EDAS for review. Final papers uploaded after review, whether they be 2-page summary papers or full papers, must have an online IEEE eCopyright form completed.  This is also accessed through EDAS.

Please follow the following 3 steps to successfully submit your paper.

1. Correctly format manuscript

Manuscript template downloadPlease use the template given below to construct your summary paper.  You are strongly advised to download and edit the text in this template rather than apply the formatting and style retrospectively.  This will help ensure compliance with LAPC formatting requirements.  LAPC 2016 will only be issuing an electronic copy of the proceedings and so colour figures and diagrams are welcomed.  However, it is good practice to ensure your paper will be legible if printed using a monochrome printer.  Please do not include page numbers in your manuscript or any other headers or footers.  Templates are available in MS Word and LaTeX formats.

Alternatively, a LateX paper template is also available

2. Convert to PDF using IEEE PDF eXpress

IEEE PDF eXpress logoAll manuscripts must be converted to the IEEE Xplore compliant PDF format before being uploaded onto EDAS. This includes having all your fonts embedded and bookmarks removed from the PDF file.  You can create an IEEE Xplore compliant PDF file by using the IEEE PDF eXpress tool. Follow this link to create yourself a new account and upload the manuscript for conversion. Once complete, the PDF file will be e-mailed to you.  Once received, please upload your manuscript for review through EDAS.

3. Upload manuscript using EDAS

Manuscript submission to LAPC 2016 takes place through EDAS.  If you do not already have an EDAS account, you will need to create one in order to submit a manuscript.  Once logged in, select LAPC 2016 from the conference listings. You will need to provide a title, an abstract (up to 300 words), paper topic and all author details. Please ensure all names, addresses and email details are correctly entered and are in the same order in which they appear in the manuscript.  Any inconsistencies may result in your paper being incorrectly indexed in IEEE Xplore. Once the manuscript is registered and uploaded, you will receive email confirmation. You can visit your manuscript details at any time to view progress. Changes can only be made up to the paper submission deadline.

All accepted papers will be presented as posters.  It is the policy of LAPC that in order for a paper to be submitted to IEEE Xplore, at least one author from the paper must register and attend the conference.  Each delegate is permitted to present a maximum of 2 posters
