NEW for LAPC 2013, we are introducing a new type of poster!
We realise sometimes new research results become available after the paper submission deadline for a conference you would really like to attend. Perhaps, the results are not quite complete but its well worth talking about. Well, LAPC 2013 now offers the perfect solution - the Research in Progress poster. Why not come to LAPC 2013 with an A0 poster showing off your new results. It will give you a great opportunity to discuss your project and get invaluable feedback on any initial results. You can then take the opportunity check out other hot research and form some new networks. At LAPC, we believe a conference should not just be for presenting research but should also provide an excellent opportunity to form new networks, especially for young researchers. New networks pave the way for new job opportunities and new international collaborations.
These Research in Progress posters do not need an accompanying full paper, in fact they do not need any paper submission at all. This of course means your poster is not recorded in the official proceedings and will not be submitted to the IEEE Xplore database. However, we will list your poster in the conference programme so that other delegates can find you easily. Each delegate can only bring ONE Research in Progress poster. That's in addition to other full-paper posters they may be presenting. For example, you may have 2 papers submitted and accepted for poster presentations at LAPC 2013. You are now permitted to bring ONE Research in Progress poster as well as the two full-paper posters. All delegates must pay the delegate registration fee even if they are not presenting a full-paper poster.
You must let us know your intention to bring a Research in Progress poster by the 1st of October 2013.
We hope you take this great opportunity to bring some new/preliminary results for discussion at LAPC 2013. See you in November.
